Super Bowl XLVII

I needed some down time this weekend, too. Haven’t felt like the ground beneath me is stable. So when Nora got sick Saturday I began nesting. And burrowing my way through this house until I got an edge on spring cleaning. And when the Benadryl took hold of Nora, I let her sleep on my chest for over an hour. Layla curled under my armpit. The remote to myself. And my daughter rising and falling to each of my breaths. My favorite football party to date. Not only because I knew this moment was one I’d store away and re-visit when Nora is running out the door to be with her friends, but because the Buffalo Bills weren’t playing. And losing. For the third time in a row. See? That’s how long I’ve been Super Bowling.

You had the remote all to yourself….Bliss. Oh, and that you were snugggling with your beloved daughter and dog. That too.
